Why I made KeepSeek in One Photo

Lost stories

The teddy bear, it was my mom’s. She loved it enough to keep it for over 60 years, but I don’t know anything about it. What’s its name? Who gave it to her? How did it make her feel? Questions I’ll never know the answer to now that she has passed.

Downsizing guilt relief

The clock doesn’t work. I need to toss it. But it’s not an alarm clock, it’s feeling grownup when Mom let me take it to camp, it’s the nickname Rooster I earned when I accidentally knocked it across the room with the alarm blaring, waking everyone up. I know I should toss it, but it’s an anchor to those memories and feelings, so I don’t.

The solution

I made KeepSeek to solve both of these problems. To capture the stories of heirlooms so they make sense to my kids and even their kids. Help me let go while keeping the memories.

— Michelle, KeepSeek founder

Letting go doesn’t have to mean losing it.

Keep what matters in three easy steps:

We made KeepSeek with people who aren’t technologically savvy in mind.

  1. 1. Snap a photo
  2. 2. Perfect the image with a few taps
  3. 3. Tell the story

Built specifically for keepsakes — not a generic photo app.
